The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) provides entrepreneurship programs in order to inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, recognize business opportunities and plan for success.  NFTE Chicago partners with schools and works with youth from Chicago’s low-income communities to build their academic and professional skills, expose them to entrepreneurship, and help them develop an entrepreneurial mindset in order to remain competitive in the increasingly global marketplace.  NFTE Chicago is hiring a Program Manager to build NFTE Chicago’s capacity to expand its reach and impact.

Position Summary

The Program Manager is a multifaceted role responsible for two primary areas: 
  1. Promoting NFTE within schools and supporting a caseload of NFTE teachers and students to implement its entrepreneurship programs
  2. Enhancing the NFTE program through curriculum and program design initiatives

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide content expertise, pedagogical suggestions, and offer coaching, feedback, and best practices to teachers for how to engage and excite students about NFTE’s experiential, project-based programming
  • Visit NFTE schools and form strong relationships with NFTE’s educators, principals and program partners to build successful school partnerships
  • Coordinate events such as site visits, volunteer opportunities, field trips and other aspects of program implementation for assigned NFTE teachers and corresponding classes
  • Design new curricular resources to enhance program offerings


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum two - five years’ experience teaching strongly preferred
  • Strong passion for improving public schools and for increasing opportunities for students from low-income communities
  • Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship education and the value NFTE’s project-based, real-world learning approach
  • Visionary and strategic thinker with the ability to conceptualize, implement, and manage multiple projects in an effective manner
  • Analytical ability and comfort using data to make strategic decisions
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, think critically, take initiative, and display leadership across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Interest in building internal capacities of a small program office and ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Car required for travel to and from school sites
