NFTE works closely with entrepreneurship teachers to ensure that students receive innovative, thoughtful instruction. Teacher training is the gateway to increased teacher induction and retention. Small, teacher-facilitated learning communities within the school help to sustain motivation and promote innovative teaching strategies. Teachers have opportunities to support each other through joint professional development activities.
NFTE University - NFTE’s relationship with the educator begins at NFTE University, a unique program that prepares teachers and youth workers to deliver fun, engaging and relevant entrepreneurship education. NFTE U is a four-day intensive training program that focuses on the core elements of experiential education and provides the tools and methodology for teaching middle and high school students the principles of entrepreneurship.
Is there a NFTE program in your school or community-based organization? Do you want to bring NFTE to your school or CBO? Contact the NFTE program office in your area.* They will guide you through the process, from ordering curriculum to teacher training.
If you are not located in an area that NFTE serves, you might be a good candidate for our new BizBuilders' training program. This 3-day workshop provides the same hands-on training provided to NFTE's teachers through NFTE University.
The next BizBuilders' workshop will take place October 20-22, 2010, in New York City. For more information, contact Victor Salama at victor.salama@nfte.com.
*NFTE University is currently offered only through our program offices, at on-mission institutions (where at least 40% of students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch).
