The votes are in, and we have our 2013 Elevator Pitch Challenge winners!
Since early September, viewers have checked out dozens of student elevator pitches at www.elevatorpitch2013.com and voted for their favorite. What is an elevator pitch? An "elevator pitch" is a carefully crafted message designed to explain a business to a potential investor. The catch — it must be given in the time that it takes to ride up an elevator. Only the students who represent the businesses taking part in the National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge can participate in the Elevator Pitch Challenge.
During the National Challenge finals on Oct. 3, 2013, the winners were named: congratulations to our grand prize winner, Aliyah W. from St. Louis, Missouri, along with the runners-up Alex M. from San Jose, California and Dagim G. from Alexandria, Virginia. Aliyah has won $2,500, while the two runner-ups win $500 each.
