Emma Nothmann, Director
Emma Nothmann was appointed to serve as Director of NFTE Bay Area in June of 2014. Prior to this position, Emma attended Harvard, and worked in both Texas and California at the crossroads of education and entrepreneurship. Working as an intrapreneur, Emma built teams of consultants at Katzenbach Partners and Booz and Company. At Booz, Emma built a department focused exclusively on serving the education sector, including the Gates Foundation and large urban school districts. Most recently, she has worked at Edmodo, leading outreach to K-12 school systems to create the leading social learning platform.
Alfredo Mathew, Program Director
Alfredo comes to NFTE Bay Area with 15 years of experience pioneering innovative approaches to public education. Alfredo's extensive experience developing authentic project based learning experiences and curriculum to support youth social and academic development has made him an effective teacher and leader in high poverty schools. As an entrepreneur and former NFTE teacher himself, Alfredo brings a wealth of insight to our classrooms and to support our teachers' professional development.
