140 Cities, 50 Countries, 1 award.  I have just arrived along with NFTE Alum Zoe Damacela in Monte Carlo. We’re guests of Ernst & Young for their World Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Entrepreneurs inspire, lead, change and challenge. I am lucky enough to get to spend the next three days with the top entrepreneurs from 50 countries around the globe, chosen through E&Y’s EOY program. I can hardly believe the list. The founder of Angry Birds is representing Finland, and Reid Hoffman, the founder of LinkedIn, is representing the US.

The list is amazing, and they are all here to compete for the top prize. Zoe and I are showcasing the work that NFTE does with hundreds of thousands of young people globally to get them started down the path of thinking like an entrepreneur. Tonight, I’ll have dinner with the judges chosen to make this difficult decision:

  • Ruben Vardanian (Russia)
  • Haryanto Adikoesoemo (Indonesia)
  • Steve Case (USA)
  • Rodrigo Alonso Herrara Aspra

They’re all world class entrepreneurs in their own right. And where might this dinner be held? In the King’s private wine cellar… where else?

More to come… However, E&Y knows how to throw an event.  This is a picture of the helicopter that met me in Nice to deliver us to the door step of our hotel in Monte Carlo. Hard not to feel like Cinderella in this wonderland!
