This year’s World Series of Innovation is the biggest and most competitive World Series we’ve ever held. Students from around the world had the opportunity to submit their innovation to 11 challenges, ranging from beverage marketing plans to new technologies for education, in the hopes of winning the grand prize.
Students from nine nations including Algeria, Haiti, Austria, Chile and Thailand – more than 700 entries overall – shared their innovations this year and could win up to $10,000 in cash and prizes in the challenges.

As a current entrepreneurship student at the University of Southern California (USC) I strongly agree with NFTE’s belief that an entrepreneurship education is fundamental for all youth to better shape and prepare them for the future.
I had a wonderful experience today helping chart the course for bringing financial literacy to all young Americans. I joined the President's Advisory Council on Financial Capability in presenting our findings to President Obama.

What started as a way for me to utilize my skillsets as an investor and advisor to entrepreneurs in support of my passion for education has morphed into, honestly, a way of life. Late last year I made a career switch and joined an education-focused startup company, www.campusexplorer.com, with the goal of founding my own one day.
While this was the scariest decision of my life, I felt a strange comfort because of two important lessons that have guided me. Interestingly enough, these two lessons are the core of NFTE. It’s why NFTE matters.

NFTE's program offices anticipate helping more than 18,000 students discover entrepreneurship this school year. That's nearly 2,000 additional students compared to last school year.
The South Florida program office, in 2011-2012, reached the most students overall, while the NY Metro program office brought NFTE to the most schools. The chart below shows the number of schools where NFTE is at work and the number of students who completed the program.
As we begin our 2012-2013 school year, we are excited about the new opportunities the school year brings to spark our students’ creativity and imagination about their future. We are continuing to see the impact of our students discovering entrepreneurship and pursuing opportunities that help them realize their full potential.

Hi, my name is Carlos Mendoza and I am excited to be part of the NFTE family! Prior to joining NFTE, I was a member of City Year New York from 2008-2012, where I had the opportunity to manage and coach diverse teams of AmeriCorps members in two Queens public middle schools—IS 126 and IS 204—around their work to improve their students’ attendance, behavior, and performance in English and math.
