SINGAPORE, Nov. 10, 2025 —Halogen alumnus Xavier Tan exemplifies the global impact of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and the life-changing results that come from igniting entrepreneurial thinking in youth and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.
This year marks a remarkable milestone for NFTE’s Global Innovation Network member, Halogen, as they celebrate a decade of fueling innovation and change through NFTE. The theme for this celebration is Daring to Dream.
Since its founding in 1987, NFTE has dreamed of a world in which access to high-quality entrepreneurship education is widespread and every young person can learn how to start a business. Halogen’s delivery of NFTE’s curriculum in Singapore reflects a proven model of network-member-led entrepreneurship education that expands reach and drives measurable impact. NFTE’s programs have already reached nearly 1.5 million youth, and thus far in 2025-2026 its programs span 29 countries thanks to 39 Global Innovation Network members.
Halogen’s decade-long partnership is a powerful example of NFTE’s global movement to ignite entrepreneurial mindsets and improve economic outcomes for students and their communities. In Singapore, Halogen works with youth from underserved backgrounds, including those facing financial hardship, academic disengagement, or learning challenges.
Ivy Tse, Halogen’s Chief Executive Officer, said her organization stumbled upon NFTE’s work in the United States in 2013-2014. “We saw that it was a compelling program for youth from underserved communities,” she said. “The program had a proven track record of engaging young people who thrive through hands-on learning and practical business skills, with a strong emphasis on building entrepreneurial mindsets.”
Since then, Halogen’s commitment has produced numerous achievements, including:
- 5,418 youths who have been guided through Halogen’s NFTE program (delivered as a 50-hour entrepreneurship curriculum)
- 5,000+ volunteers (youth and working adults) mobilized to deliver 9,000 hours of instruction in a 50-hour entrepreneurship curriculum format
- 200+ educators and approximately 30 schools across Singapore engaged
- 9 youth entrepreneurship challenges hosted in Singapore, while 8 winners represented the 60-year-old country at NFTE’s World Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in New York
Congratulations to Halogen on 10 years of lighting the way for thousands of young innovators. Learn more about the NFTE and Halogen collaboration or join NFTE’s Global Innovation Network.
