NFTE partnered with a team of graduate students from the George Washington University Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration to conduct a policy scan across the U.S.

This policy scan aimed to examine the local education policy landscape to align NFTE’s expansion with its core mission and values and uncover states with recent legislature and education policies that advocate for economic education. The team selected states that had an absence of NFTE programming, served a large proportion of minority students, and demonstrated existing efforts to promote economic education.

The result of the policy scan indicated that Alabama, Minnesota, and Mississippi had policies and grants that were favorable to economic education and potential expansion of NFTE programming.

NFTE is grateful to George Washington University and the student team for their insights and recommendations regarding NFTE’s expansion.
