NFTE Receives Renewed Support from the Citi Foundation

Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), a global education nonprofit that ignites the entrepreneurial mindset in the next generation of diverse leaders, announced today a renewed grant from the Citi Foundation in the amount of $1,100,000. This grant will support NFTE’s Aspiring Entrepreneurs Program in New York, New Jersey, Washington, DC, South Florida, Tampa, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area.

Citi Foundation funds will support the implementation of entrepreneurship programs reaching 65,000 students through NFTE’s in-school, out-of-school, and summer programs as well as through NFTE’s awareness programs. Additionally, these funds will be used to support program events, volunteer program management, small business launch, teacher professional development, and growth and expansion to new audiences in the markets we overlap.

Together, the Citi Foundation and NFTE will give students the opportunity for a program experience that helps youth discover and harness their passions in new ways by providing applied learning opportunities and access to valuable economic and networking opportunities. As a key supporter of NFTE, the Citi Foundation’s funding helps NFTE across all parts of the organization by supporting programmatic activities as well as general operating costs like our amazing staff, ambitious research goals, and growing marketing and communication efforts. Thanks to the Citi Foundation, NFTE will continue to grow its efforts to position entrepreneurship education as a key driver for more inclusive prosperity and as a model for new approaches in education to open the doors of opportunity to those who, too often, continue to be left out.

Citi Foundation invests in efforts that increase financial inclusion, catalyze job opportunities for youth, and reimagine approaches to building economically vibrant communities.  NFTE understands that when students from under-resourced communities develop the entrepreneurial mindset, they are prepared to be career-ready for life. Together we are providing youth around the world with the career readiness tools and opportunities needed to thrive in the 21st century economy through a combination of skills-based volunteering, career mentorship, flexible funding, and meaningful youth engagement.
