We’re excited to share the latest NFTE Nexus policy brief: Uniting for Impact: The Role of Convening Organizations in Systemic Change.

In February 2025, American Student Assistance® (ASA) hosted the inaugural Work-Based Learning Leaders Forum in Raleigh, North Carolina—bringing together NFTE and 30–40 leading organizations to discuss the future of work-based learning. Through deep conversations and collaborative problem-solving, leaders addressed the challenges facing organizations like ours: from navigating policy barriers to building stronger partnerships with schools and employers.

This new policy brief explores why smaller, action-oriented convenings can drive deeper collaboration, build coalitions, and create meaningful policy change—providing insights that extend beyond work-based learning to strengthen advocacy efforts across the education and workforce landscape. It also highlights key challenges organizations face today and offers solutions drawn directly from these critical discussions.

At NFTE, we believe in the power of coming together to drive lasting impact. We invite you to read the full brief to learn more about how collaborative leadership can shape the future for young people.
