“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Steve Mariotti, the visionary founder of global nonprofit Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Steve launched NFTE in 1987 with the mission of providing entrepreneurial education to youth from marginalized communities. A former entrepreneur turned special education teacher in New York City, Steve was a dedicated advocate for at-risk students. Steve’s passion for education and entrepreneurship transformed lives and earned him numerous accolades, including being named America’s Top High School Business Teacher and Best Economics Teacher of the Year in New York State and winning one of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Steve’s legacy lives on through the 1.4 million young entrepreneurs he has uplifted and inspired worldwide. We are collaborating closely with Steve’s family to celebrate his legacy and contributions. More information will be shared soon.”
