NFTE World Series of Innovation alumna Maryam Saleem recently attended the 2024 Japan International Youth Innovation Summit where she was appointed Asia Youth Innovation Ambassador in recognition of her outstanding dedication, commitment, and contributions toward global leadership, innovation, & peace value. She was also named the first place winner of the Peace Innovation Speak Up competition.
The Japan International Youth Innovation Summit was held by the Global Goals Youth and Global Peace Youth Korea to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Vision 2030.
Maryam Saleem won third place in the Citi Foundation Skills for Success Challenge in the 2023-24 NFTE World Series of Innovation online competition with her business idea GoClean Pakistan. GoClean Pakistan is a not for profit initiative with a goal to turn organic waste into renewable energy.
Of her involvement in WSI, Maryam said, “While creating my business idea for the WSI challenge, all the resources and guidelines available from NFTE helped me tremendously to streamline my initiative. I want to continue my mission of supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is a global nonprofit that envisions equitable access to entrepreneurship education worldwide. The World Series of Innovation is a free annual global online competition in which young people from around the world offer business ideas to solve the world’s most pressing problems, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
