NFTE Names Tim Blaylock as West Region Executive Director

Tim Blaylock, a longtime executive in California, has been named Executive Director of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s West Region. Blaylock, who began his new role on July 17, brings more than 30 years of experience in leadership, management, and youth development strategies to his new position.
Pittsburgh Student Wins Mid-Atlantic Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Competition

NFTE Mid-Atlantic congratulates Hannah Russell from Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy for winning first place in the regional competition. Second-place went to Tationna Pack from Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy. In third place was Misbah Sifat. The runners up were Helena Sandoval and Mia Paredes-Cabrera.
Baltimore Student Wins Capital Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Competition

Carter Lawson of Francis Scott Key Elementary Middle School in Baltimore is taking his idea for Odorase—a non-toxic, lightly scented odor eliminator—to New York in October. He won first place in the NFTE Capital Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. Second went to Rommie Hooper for Compel Comics and third to Jkahi Booker for Photo Rely.
Rhode Island Student Wins New England Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Competition

Applause to the winners of NFTE’s annual New England Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. In first place was Zainabou Thiam of The MET School. Her schoolmate Raneem Al Suwaidani came in second. There were two runners-up, Bianca Fatu of Ipswich High School and Charlotte Furman of Barnstable High School.
