Promote Youth Entrepreneurship Day

Each year the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) calls for a global celebration of Youth Entrepreneurship Day on the second Friday of November during Global Entrepreneurship Week. The inaugural day was November 17, 2023. This year we’ll celebrate on November 15.

This toolkit is your resource for supporting this observance and NFTE’s Fuel a Future initiative to ignite the entrepreneurial mindset in young innovators. Below are a few ways you can join NFTE in advocating for entrepreneurship education as a vital solution to future workforce readiness, global sustainability, and socioeconomic success.

Record & Share Your Story

NFTE enjoys hearing about the entrepreneurial journey of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders. It inspires our youth and motivates us, too! A sentiment we hear quite often is, “I wish we had NFTE courses when I was in school!” We agree. To help us advocate for high-quality entrepreneurship education that every young person can access, add your story to this call to support Youth Entrepreneurship Day.

  • Record a short video (at least 60 seconds, or 1 minutes, but no longer than 5 minutes). In it, share your NFTE story, entrepreneurship journey or highlight why you believe in the importance of entrepreneurship education. Be sure to close your video with the phrase: “Fuel the Future of a Leader Like Me by donating at nfte.com/fuelafuture.”
When posting to social media, tag @NFTE or use our hashtags: #NFTE, #YouthEntrepreneurshipDay, #FuelaFutureLikeMine, and #FuelaFuture.
  • For your video to be considered for posting on the Fuel a Future microsite, click here. NFTE alumni should have already received an email from NFTE inviting them to record a video. If you have not received that email or if you are not a NFTE alum, please contact us at [email protected] using the subject line: Submit Fuel a Future Video. We’ll send instructions.
  • Please know that NFTE retains editorial discretion and shared content is public. By uploading a video, you agree that NFTE may use it for promotional and educational purposes, including on social media. You must be 18 or older to participate.

Of course, you should be authentic and share the story that truly represents your journey and experiences. So use your own words. But here is a suggested script:

  • Introduce yourself.
  • Information NFTE alumni may wish to include: Your name, the year you took the NFTE course, how your life has been impacted by NFTE, a favorite memory from your NFTE experience.
  • Information other supporters may wish to include: Why you support entrepreneurship education; a call to support Youth Entrepreneurship Day this November; discuss your journey as a founder or experience using entrepreneurial skills; offer encouraging words for young people who want to be entrepreneurs or successful like you.
  • Close your video with “Fuel the Future of a Leader Like Me” or with “Fuel the Future of (eg., job title or career field) Like Me” by donating at nfte.com/fuelafuture.”
  • You must be 18 or older to participate.
  • Content produced or used as part of this campaign is the responsibility of its creator. Please act responsibly. Before you post, ensure the video is appropriate for an audience that includes youth.
  • Please know that NFTE retains editorial discretion and shared content is public. By uploading a video, you agree that NFTE may use it for promotional and educational purposes, including on social media.
  • Choose a well-lit, quiet place to record your video. Avoid background noise.
  • Consider a background that visually tells your entrepreneurial story. (Example, personal trainer recording in the gym)
  • Turn the volume of your mic all the way up.
  • Speak energetically and loud enough to be clearly heard.
  • We prefer horizontal recording. Hold your phone sideways and maintain a comfortable distance from the camera, while ensuring the microphone can still pick up quality sound.
  • If you decide to upload your video to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Vimeo, please tag @NFTE or use our hashtags: #NFTE, #YouthEntrepreneurshipDay, #FuelaFutureLikeMine, and #FuelaFuture.
